3rd Indie Reading Project: Quote Number 2 Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows

"Annie had her own life.A son. A home... It wouldn't be fair I popped up, opening old wounds, making her part of my dark, twisted world." (Shan,41) Darren Shan wanted to visit his sister, because he hadn't seen her in a long time. Darren and Annie's parents think Darren is dead. Annie does too, Darren had to fake a death to become a vampire. Ever since then he never saw his parents and had to live in his own world with his vampire species people. His parents and Annie don't know that Darren is a vampire. Darren was going to visit Annie but  Darren didn't want to disturb her life right now. He doesn't want to tell her the deadly truth to freak Annie out. So Darren left her and let her have her peace, but Darren sobbed his heart out ever painful, lonely step of the way. This is an internal conflict for Darren he had a decision between telling Annie the cold hard truth and leave her traumatized or walk away and not let Annie know anything. If I was in this situation I would leave her alone and not tell Annie. She doesn't deserve to hear the cold hard truth because she is living a very happy life and telling her will ruin it. It was pretty smart for Darren to walk away, but if he really wanted to he should wait another day.

3rd Indie Reading Project: Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows Book Review

I think Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows is a very fun book to read especially if you are a big fan of Darren Shan. This book is full of fun suspense and action. I think is one of the best so far when it comes to having a twisted plot. I recommend this book to people that love reading about vampires, because Cirque Du Freak is all about the vampires. I also recommend this book to people that love killing and fights. Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows has a lot of wonderful fight scenes in it and a lot of disappointing results after the fights. So yeah lots of killings and deaths of the fun characters in this book. I recommend this book to all the people that hate reading a boring book. Cirque Du Freak will not disappoint and will keep u wanting more after every chapter or every page you read. The dialogue in this book is amazing. I would give this book a 9.34157123567 out of 10. The pros about this book is that it contains awesome suspense, magnificent dialogue, a very twisting plot that leaves readers hungry for more, fantastic fight scenes, a lot of killing and war, and good internal and external conflicts that makes you wonder what the main character will do next. The cons about this book is that it is a to be continued book, some cool characters die which is sad, and it can be a little predicting just a little. With all the cons this is still the best book of the series so far. I hope the last book is going to hold up to the rest of the series. Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows is a spectacular book to read. If you don't read this book you are a noob!

3rd Indie Reading Project: The summary of Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows 341 words

I have finished my 3rd independent reading book which is Cirque Du Freak Lord of Shadows by Darren Shan. It is the eleventh book of the Cirque Du Freak series. In the book Darren Shan goes back to visits his town and to visit his sister Annie. He peaks through the window and sees her sister living happily with her son and doesn't want to disturb her, because Darren thinks Annie is not ready to know the truth about what has really happen to him (Darren turning into a vampire). Then one night before the Cirque show a boy named Darius asked for tickets to the show. Darren and Harkat give him the tickets. Then after Darren meets an old friend  named Tommy  and they have a nice little chat after not seeing each other for long time. Tommy invites Darren to a soccer game. Darren goes to Tommy's soccer game to root for him. After the game the Vampaneze clan attack Tommy and kills him and runs away. Darren Shan tries chasing them but the Vampaneze led him into a trap and finds out the boy that wanted the tickets was Steve Leonard's son, Darius. Darren tries to fight them but fails and gets hurt. The Vampaneze couldn't kill him because they hear the police showing up. Darren gets rescues by Debbie and Alice and is in a safe house. Vancha visits and plan an attack against the Vampaneze. They all visit the Cirque Du Freak and get attacked by the Vampaneze. They fight them off but R.V and Morgan James take Evra's son, Shancus hostage and escape. They all meet each other in a movie theater. They plan to make a trade between Shancus, who Steve had captured earlier and Darius; however, before the trading proceeds, Steve breaks Shancus's neck, killing him and challenging Darren to do the same with Darius. Darren thinks it over and accepts the challenge, but Steve tells Darren that Darius is Annie's son. Darren doesn't know what to do so he lets Darius go.

3rd Indie Reading Project: Quote Number 1 Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows 319 words

"You see, Darren," Steve purred, winking at me before vanishing down the tunnel to freedom, "if you kill Darius, you won't just be slaughtering my son, you'll be murdering your nephew!" ( Shan,220) This quote was really interesting because it was the turning point of the whole book. Steve Leopard has just captured Darren's bestfriend, Evra' son Shancus. Steve had him hostage and ran away with him so Darren decided to capture Steve's son, Darius and escape. They both meet each other in the theater and Darren decides to trade Darius for Shancus, but Steve doesn't accept. What Steve does was he killed Shancus forcing Darren to decide if whether he should kill Darius or let him free. When Darren was about to kill him Steve told Darren that Darius was his nephew. Now Darren didn't know what to do. I thought this quote was interesting, because it was really sad about what Steve did and he tricked Darren too. I think Steve is really good at messing with someone's head but he is a @#$% jerk. This was an internal conflict for Darren, because he had to make a tough decision after Steve killed Shancus, who was Darren's bestfriend's son. His decision was to kill him or just let him go. Darren is not a mean person, and he doesn't want to go  kill a little 10 year old boy so the decision was hard for him. Unfortunately he let him go after knowing Darius was his nephew. If I was stuck in this situation I wouldn't know what I would do. Kill my nephew to avenge a bestfriend's son's death or let him go. This is really an internal conflict it just boggles the mind. If I was stuck I would probably let him go, because he is my nephew, but if he wasn't related to me I would snap his neck and wouldn't think twice about it.

3rd Indie Reading Project: Darren Shan the dynamic character. 386 words

I have been reading the Cirque Du Freak series for a while now. I started reading the series from book 2 and now I have finished reading book 11 for my indie reading book ,which is Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows by Darren Shan and in every book the main character Darren Shan grows throughout every book and learns more through all the plots and danger in stored for him. Darren Shan matures in every book starting from book 1. He was a normal average boy and in each book he matures more and becomes a full grown vampire. He learns how to handle more dangerous situations by himself, he learns how to come up with good a plan on the spot when he is in trouble, and he is able to fight difficult enemies by himself without his teammates help. Darren also learns things that helps him in the real world. In one of the books he learns that it is good to have a friend that has your back to help you through tough times, but in a another book he learns not to trust every one that looks like they can be trusted. Also in one of the books he witnessed the loss a very special friend named Mr. Crepsley ,which led to him learning the theme witnessing a death of a loved one is an obstacle we all have to overcome. It was hard for Darren to overcome it but he did. In the book  In the book I have just finished reading, Cirque Du Freak Lord of the Shadows I think Darren Shan learns that everyone is born good and bad and they have a decision to choose either side.Darren Shan also faces a lot of internal conflicts, like having a tough decision about saving his ex-girlfriend Debbie when she got captured or killing the Vampaneze lord. Also faces internal conflicts like deep hate for an old bestfriend, and feeling very sad when he loss his good mentor, Mr.Crepsley. Darren also faces external conflicts, human vs human and human vs society ones. Fighting the Vampaneze and fighting other enemies are his external conflicts and Darren being a vampire himself and having to hide from humankind is another conflict. Darren has been through a lot and have grown a lot.
